balkanhearts compares dating apps from the perspective of the Albanian and Balkan community: independently, without marketing promises, and with a clear eye on what really counts for a serious search for a partner.
Our ratings are based on eight transparent criteria. When we recommend an app, we do so only where it genuinely has its strengths. Providers may pay a commission for linked referrals; this has no influence on our ratings.
How we work: every app is rated on the same eight criteria, each from 1 to 5. The scores come from using the app ourselves, from publicly available information on prices, features and data handling, and from reports by people in the community. We award no points for anything we cannot verify ourselves.
Why we weight: for the Albanian search for a partner, cultural fit, serious intent and verification matter more than the sheer size of the pool. Those three criteria therefore count more towards the diaspora score than the rest. The individual scores stay visible so you can weight things differently if something else matters more to you.
How we are funded: links to providers may earn a commission. It is structured the same way for every app we compare and it changes no score. No provider has any influence on a text, none sees it before publication, and there are no paid placements.
How we correct: prices, features and rules change, especially with younger apps. We recheck the ratings regularly and keep the date of the last check visible on the comparison page. Anything outdated gets corrected in the next round rather than quietly left standing.
What we do not stand for: no rankings sorted by commission, no invented user voices, and no success rates without a solid source. Where a figure comes from a provider's own marketing, we say so. And when we cannot answer a question, it stays open rather than being filled with a plausible guess.
